This Supper will be held during Ramadan, a month based on the lunar calendar (May 5 – June 4 in 2019) that most Muslims observe as a time of reflection, piety, and charity. During the day people fast, but after sundown they gather with their families and friends to break the fast and share a meal called Iftar.
7-8 PM: View "An Immigrant Alphabet" on display, enjoy the Delaware River scene, sample some appetizers (if you are not fasting), and socialize with other guests.
8:19 PM: At sundown we will share an Iftar meal, the traditional fast-break of Ramadan, prepared by Ala Modak Restaurant and introduced by Hazami Sayed, founder and executive director of Al-Bustan.
